Combining the clin path and lab techniques makes sense and provides a symbiotic relationship. The chapters are organized well and consist of learning objectives and key terms in the beginning, followed by case examples and some introductory paragraphs. The rest of the chapter is then in an outline form that is thorough and easy to follow. Highlighted boxes noted as “technician tips” provide important information through a Pearls of Practice format. Full color photos with information also provide another level of comprehension.What makes this book stand out from the others is the case studies, complete with interpretation and comments to ensure that the technician understands what is happening.Some chapters have multiple choice questions at the very end to further cement the objectives and make the technician think critically. Answers to the quiz and further questions can be found at [...].Accurate results can only be gotten if the sample is prepared correctly; Chapter One – Getting Started covers proper ways to obtain and package blood, urine, and feces. Basic use of a centrifuge, microscope, stains, and blood tubes are also disussed, along with a section on laboratory safety.Chapter Four – Clinical Chemistry explains how to prepare a sample for chemisty analysis, what normal and abnormal values are, and what the clinical significance is for those abnormal results. My daughter and I loved this book. What an inspiration to us all. The book teaches you to believe in yourself and you can conquer the world. This book is perfect for all ages and is a great way to get your child interested in reading.

I never write reviews, but I had to after finishing this book. Great read! We read this together as part of our homeschool history class and all 3 of my kids (11, 9, 5 years old) were disappointed when it was over! That never happens! In fact, afterwards they requested we buy the books that are listed In the author's info at the back of the book. That says a lot! Their grandmother also mentioned to me today how much they were telling her about wind resistance, the wright brothers, bikes, kites, and typhoid fever. They definitely absorbed the information! Great, great book!

My 11 year old is reading this for school and loves it. The chapters are engaging and short which helps him not feel overwhelmed when I assign the next chapter.

Read this book 30 years ago and loved it, especially the portrayal of mother Wright's influence on her sons' success. Was delighted to find it still in print to order for an engineering-minded grandson.

This book was great for my daughter to do a book report on. You really learned a lot about their childhood and what made them the great inventors they were. We went to kill devil hills this summer and saw the monument and the gliders and planes they built. We watched a movie at the museum which was made for adults. This book helped clear things up, even for me, as a parent. Would recommend!!
