Shame of me for not noticing this book is only 77 pages and it turned out maybe 60 pages of content. Despite that I was hoping it would be like a quick reference guide but instead it reads like an overly long blog filled with generic common sense tips. The author occasionally rents out her whole house that's located in one of the most expensive cities in the US and thus her claim at being an expert. There's no instruction here; only basic advice based on her limited experience. For example, she glosses over any other type of rental (partial house, room, etc) only mentioning that it can be done, there's generic advice on legal or financials (e.g. save receipts), and nothing about the logistics of the website or application itself. Save your money - there's better information available online.
This author has done a solid job of organizing a great deal of information into a comprehensive easy-to-read guide. After reading it cover to cover, I appreciate the step-by-step details, insider tips, and real-life examples. I enjoyed this book and it is fairly well written. It could have been longer and had more detail. Perhaps the author can do that in a second edition. This book gives you all the info you need to get started on Airbnb if you want to. It actually did a good job of talking me out of it. A few points: the author lives in an expensive part of the country in what sounds like a very nice property. If you do not have such a property, you will not get the same lucrative rates she brags about, but you will go through all the same hassles. There is some repetition and a little bragginess to the book, but overall a solid resource.

One idea I would add is that if you're thinking of renting out part of your home you go stay in some AirBnBs to see how its done from the guest's point-of-view first. We combined staying at three places, all found on the AirBnB site and this also gave us the opportunity to ask hosts a bit about their hosting experience.
